Valentines Snacks for School

If your child’s classroom is hosting a Valentines party and you’re not sure what to bring, I have compiled a list of treats (including store bough, healthy, and homemade).

From puppy chow to rice krispie treats, cookies cut out with a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cupcakes, there are multiple options here.

Simple Store Bought Options

You don’t have to be a “Pinterest mom” to contribute to your kid’s school Valentines treats, here are some simple additions that kids love that you can grab from the store when you’re busy:

  • Strawberries. There are plenty of chocolate-dipped strawberries or heart-shaped strawberries in the round-up below, but nothing beats fresh berries. They’re festively red and always a hit.
  • Popcorn. I included candied strawberry popcorn below but kids also love it plain. Pick up a bag of pre-popped popcorn and send it to your child’s class Valentine’s day party.
  • Red velvet cupcakes. They’re a classic for a reason and all the grocery store bakeries have them ready this time of year, topped with heart sprinkles.
  • Brownies. Another sweet treat that’s a great addition to a valentine’s day classroom party.
  • Hershey’s Kisses.The king of all valentine’s day treats.
  • Heart-shaped pizza. A lot of restaurants offer this for Valentine’s Day, this may be an option as well.

Healthy Valentine Snacks for School

Remember, this is a school party so maybe save the teacher some pain and keep the desserts and candies on the smaller side. Here are some healthier options for Valentines Day treats for kids:

  • Fruit cups. I’ve seen some cute “Love Bug” crafts with these.
  • Popcorn. As I stated above, you can buy it bagged or pop it yourself.
  • Veggie Tray. It may not be heart shaped or a V-Day theme but it’s always a good choice to bring to a part.
  • Fruit Tray. I’ve seen the grocery stores put these together in cute heart-shaped trays.
  • Valentine’s Day Yogurt Bark. It’s so easy to make, pour greek yogurt on a parchment-lined sheet pan and top with some chocolate, strawberries (you can use raspberries too), white chocolate chips, etc. Stick it in the freezer, crack it, and serve.

It’s always helpful to have a few allergy-friendly options too: gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut free.
